Abortion

Abortion is one of the issues tearing America apart.

The basic argument is about whether abortion kills a person.

I've heard very poor arguments on both sides. I believe we can come together on this issue, if we do a thorough analysis together.

What good does it do for pro-life advocates to discover that a fetus is a person if the pro-choice people don't hear it? What good does it do for the pro-choice to show their reasons why the fetus is not a person if the pro-life people don't hear it?

If it's true that a fetus is a baby, ending it's life is an extremely serious matter. And so is forcing a citizen to grow an unwanted child in her body for months and then be forced into making a decision to give away or care for a child.

If America is really split on this issue, what should we do?

Should we let a 51% majority dictate how it is for everyone?

How about a 60% majority?

And are the two sides equal? Do pro-life people really want to force women to carry all pregnancies till birth? Or do they just want to ensure that women know that adoption or raising their child is an option? Pro-choice people aren't pro-abortion, they just want women who want abortions to have it be a safe, affordable option.

And are there other options to lessen the number of abortions?

Plus, what do religions say? Shouldn't we all at least hear what they have to say about it?

I believe we can come together on this. I believe that as a nation, we can take a few nights and study this together, and reach a decision we're happy with. If we talk about it, we can stop fighting about abortion.
