Covid Vaccine Death Statistics

I just today read Steve Kirsch's analysis of how the numbers say that the Pfizer Vaccine kills more people than it saves. That sounds bad, but let's look closer.

In a comment, someone else offered numbers that show the Moderna vaccine is about 6 times better! So maybe Pfizer's vaccine isn't so good, but Moderna's is.

So why would the CDC still recommend the Pfizer vaccine?

My guess is that if we don't get vaccinated, many more people would get Covid and the death rate would be even higher.

Plus, if the hospitals are full of people with Covid on ventilators, there won't be room for people with heart attacks, injuries, even cancer, like happened in the first 6 months of the pandemic. Plus, it led to all sorts of other non-fatal procedures being delayed, leading to a huge backlog. While that might not seem bad, if you need surgery to fix a limb that didn't set right, limping painfully for an extra year or two, or not being able to use your hand or arm can be a huge deal, especially if you're caring for a family or can't work because of it.

Plus, some people get "long Covid." Maybe the vaccine lessens those numbers.

I think the best numbers to look at are the number of deaths in the population per month before and after the vaccines, plus the infection rate. If those went down, the vaccines were a plus.

But, if the Moderna vaccine is really much better than the Pfizer vaccine, maybe Pfizer should help make the Moderna vaccine.

My guess is that the CDC would rather keep the message simple, so not admit the bad Pfizer death stats. But I don't know...
