MI, Meta-Intelligence is about:
People with high Meta-Intelligence usually have a high EQ, emotional intelligence.
The Mixed model of empathy involves:
Being intelligent about your own mechanisms is an unusually high level of self-awareness.
Taking responsibility for them puts one in a powerful position for regulating oneself.
Relating to meaning like one creates it for oneself, one can be with people instead of ones reactions, making social skills easier.
Not believing ones reactions are compelling, there's nothing to interrupt empathy.
Similarly, one can focus on achieving.
Meta-intelligence and emotional intelligence are not the same. And one can be high in one and low in the other. What I said above is that they often go together.
Another way of thinking about meta-intelligence is that it leads to one believing one's the actor, not one's character (the ego.) The actor creates the character. A powerful character is one that the actor researches, gives oneself to, and takes responsibility for. During the acting, it's real, the height of seriousness full of conviction and integrity. But in another setting, off-stage, it was just a character.
This might sound superficial, but it actually the opposite. When committed to a cause, the person with low MI usually has other concerns going on- whether they're convincing, good enough, looking good, at risk, etc, etc. But the actor is simply committed to completely being the character.
One might also think that this can allow the actor to cheat, lie and steal. Why not if the character is all pretense?
Again, the opposite is true. One isn't acting on a stage- this is real life. What one is creating with ones characters is real. In fact, the character is real. If you had a chance to be anyone, would you be a hero or a villain? Sure, if you have low emotional intelligence, you might choose villain. But the vast majority of high MI people choose the hero.
Seeing that one is responsible for ones character makes one responsible for that character's ethics. So one can't just choose tainted ethics from a charlatan minister making money off his flock and figure that's good enough. It's real responsibility. It's much harder for the person with high MI to get caught up in the calculus of compromising one's principles or rationalizing.
